Yesterday, after church, we headed to Chattanooga, Tennessee to visit the train museum, and to take a fifty minute ride on the old 1920's train.
The boys were so excited on the way up. The car was filled with squeals of delight, lots of Jack and Luke "conversations", and the sound of Donut Man running the entire two hour car ride. We packed a lunch, with the plan to stop at a rest area for a bathroom break and to eat our sandwiches.
After we had eaten lunch, we loaded back into the car for the remainder of the trip. We arrived at the Train Station with thirty minutes to spare before our train departed. As we were walking to the station to purchase tickets, the boys stopped to look at the old trains that were on the tracks. Jack quizzed Jordan about all the parts of the engine, as they both were familiar with train parts after Jordan's nine month assignment at Bain working for a train company.
Jack and Luke were both very interested to learn about the "cow catcher" on the front part of the engine!
Once we had purchased the tickets, we went outside to wait on the train. I was reminded of the scene in Anne of Green Gables when Anne was waiting to be picked up from the station. Everything about this station reminded me of the station from the movie. Jordan and I chatted about that for a few minutes while the kids ran around the grassy area squealing, "Choo Choo!"
The train ride was so much fun! The boys loved going through the tunnel and over a bridge. It was a blast!

WOW, that looks awesome!! I love the picture of y'all that Jack took :-) And your hair looks super pretty Maureen!
I took one look at that post and thought- I wonder if her hair looks like that every day. Then I thought, if so, I'm glad they live so far away. No need for Jeremy to know how low the bar is set for his wife in "getting ready."
