So much more than brothers!

I love that I have been blessed with two boys and two girls. I love their birth order - boy:boy:girl:girl. I am so thankful that God has given me the privilege of raising both boys and girls. But this past week I have been especially thankful for my two boys. Jack and Luke are 22 months a part in age. They have always been close. But recently, I have been watching them grow into best friends. I have always prayed for, and encouraged my children to be each others best friends. Yes, it is very nice to have great friends outside of family, but there is nothing quite like the relationship siblings hold. Jack and Luke truly love each other. They are always thinking of each another. They are sad when one gets to do something that the other one is not able to. They help each other. The learn from each other. They challenge each other. And yes, they do get mad at each other, but they don't stay mad. Both of them are quick to mend what has been broken. It encourages my heart to see their relationship. Recently my heart was especially encouraged when I was told by Luke's Sunday school teacher that he said the following: "God is all knowing! He knew that I needed a big brother that would love me and watch out for me! THANK YOU GOD for Jack!" The boys are memorizing Psalm 139 together. I memorized this passage in high school, and I really want the boys to know this passage. It has been great memorizing the first three verses so far and being able to discuss what each verse means. God is faithful to use every single word of the scriptures to teach my young boys.
