Thankful for Jordan

This past week was Jordan's birthday. We had a wonderful day celebrating. Celebrating gets more and more fun each year as the children get older. They love to make cards, a cake, buy presents, and be with the special person on their special day.

We are all so thankful for Jordan. He is a godly man, and a wonderful husband and father. He makes us all feel loved and important to him. He takes the time necessary to invest in each of our lives. He truly is amazing. We love him SO much!

I snapped a few pictures of Jordan with the children.

God is Faithful

Jordan made this slideshow for me when we (belatedly) celebrated our 8th anniversary last weekend at Sea Island. God is so faithful!

Backpack

Since Jack's backpack wasn't here for his first day of school, I simply had to take another picture before he went this morning!

So much more than brothers!

I love that I have been blessed with two boys and two girls. I love their birth order - boy:boy:girl:girl. I am so thankful that God has given me the privilege of raising both boys and girls. But this past week I have been especially thankful for my two boys. Jack and Luke are 22 months a part in age. They have always been close. But recently, I have been watching them grow into best friends. I have always prayed for, and encouraged my children to be each others best friends. Yes, it is very nice to have great friends outside of family, but there is nothing quite like the relationship siblings hold. Jack and Luke truly love each other. They are always thinking of each another. They are sad when one gets to do something that the other one is not able to. They help each other. The learn from each other. They challenge each other. And yes, they do get mad at each other, but they don't stay mad. Both of them are quick to mend what has been broken. It encourages my heart to see their relationship. Recently my heart was especially encouraged when I was told by Luke's Sunday school teacher that he said the following: "God is all knowing! He knew that I needed a big brother that would love me and watch out for me! THANK YOU GOD for Jack!" The boys are memorizing Psalm 139 together. I memorized this passage in high school, and I really want the boys to know this passage. It has been great memorizing the first three verses so far and being able to discuss what each verse means. God is faithful to use every single word of the scriptures to teach my young boys.

Lake Burton

Our sweet friends, the Parrott's, invited us to the Lake with them this past Wednesday and Thursday. We had such a fun time swimming, tubing, canoeing, and fishing with them! The three older children were in paradise!
